Trusted Veal Press Trip to the Netherlands

As part of the Trusted Veal campaign in North America, seven journalists from the United States and Canada were invited to visit The Netherlands and to learn more from the Dutch veal production chain.

An intense program that started November 18, 2019 and ended November 21, 2019, did gave the North American journalists the opportunity to get an in depth sight of the whole veal production chain in Europe. This included visits to veal slaughterhouse, several veal production farms and a calf leather facility. They were also able to get a perfect understanding about the use of veal in European dishes by means of a culinary Trusted Veal master class by a renowned Dutch Chef. As such the journalists did get a good impression of the European veal tradition.

The press trip had the objective to increase awareness of European veal that the journalist could share in US and Canada with their readers. Elements that were given special attention were among others the integrated quality systems that guarantee high levels of food safety and the Dutch animal welfare initiatives.
